Hi, I finally got the source code of my class cleaned and well commented.. The goal of this class is to incapsulate the functionality of the pcntl_fork() PHP function in an easy way, allowing developers to access to a simple and intuitive API set (like java.lang.Thread). This can be used to quickly write PHP multi-threaded applications without having to deal with pcnl_fork, parent, childs, posix, etc. Base class, APIdocs, examples ca be found here: http://www.lucamariano.it/listing/pear_proposal/thread/ There're actually 4 examples of usage: 1) basic.php: a simple application with two threads; each of them increments it's own counter every seconds = just to test the parallel execution; 2) passing_vars.php: shows the usage of the shared memory facility in order to exange data with the (forked) threads; 3) exec_methods.php: shows the workaround to execute a method into the child process (a round trip between parent, shared_memory, child, parent again); 4) simple_controller.php: shows how to attach a controller to a pool of Thread in order to gain an automatic respawn of the dead childs. Every question, doubt, proposal welcome. Luca Mariano Ing.
