That may be the case with MySQL, but reading through DB\pgsql.php I get the
feeling that it passes the specified hostname to the Postgres connect
function. And reading the docs for that function indicates that if you
specify a hostname, it will use TCP sockets. If you don't specify a
hostname, it will use UNIX sockets.
Can I simply omit the hostname in the Pear DB connect string? I didn't think
it would be that simple.
