It is hopefully not obsolete. Not that the new extension is bad but I
cannot imagine smooth migration with such huge BC :).
The new extension is mysqli. Both can work together (not possible to run
2 different mysql clients btw).
As far as I can see, the php_mysql.dll is present in the b3
win32 archive. It should be the "old" mysql extension.
