There are more than enough things developers can't spell -- before they
become developers. Since this (hopefully) will not be too commonly used, I
don't think that being an uncommon word for non-native speakers of English
should be a problem. Especially as it is used quite widely even in German.
(There is no other acceptable English description for retired professors.)
