Hi Richard,
I would suggest first grabbing a copy of pearweb from cvs.php.net, and set up a local copy with an empty database so that you can test your code.
Then, I would *strongly* recommend that you make as much of your code as possible display-independent, and design it as an installable PEAR-style package. Even if it isn't in the PEAR repository, it will be easier to maintain and upgrade in that format.
Then, design a few pages that use the package, and those can go in pearweb.
In this way, the CVS for your package can be a part of pearweb, but changes can be controlled using the pear installer at pear.php.net instead of the risky cvs-oriented approach used now.
This is what I plan to push through for all of PEARweb - eventually, every component will be installable except for the pear-specific things. Also, to keep peclweb in sync, this will be very important.
Ask as many questions as you need. I can almost guarantee that if you write the code, and make sure it fits needs, it will be used in some form.
