No, I'm not being naive. Still, it's the only thing that really
doesn't matter when you consider basic code quality.
The other point that can probably get dropped is the whole "tabs
v. spaces" nonsense.
I just looked at how CPAN accepts contributions[1], and they
don't appear to have any standards requirements. They just ask
contributers to be careful with their use of namespace.
I think the namespace system is kind of clever, actually. If
someone already has a module with the "best" namespace for a
given function (e.g. Log::Syslog), others are more likely to
contribute fixes / features to that existing module instead of
submitted entirely new module that do the same thing (which
appears to happen less frequently than one would think).
