I'd considered fixing this aswell when i wrote my account-req patch, but
there was 1 problem with all of that.
The mail send to pear-dev has its From: set to the person requesting the
account. If that's changed, we can no longer reply to it either, to talk to
them if wanted...
You'd have to break that too, but in turn that would remove the ability for
other devs to communicate with said person, which was one of the main pro's
for moving those mails to pear-dev.
PS. Thanks for applying my patch. let's hope it reduces the amount of bogus
requests:)
