Hi Ian Eure, you wrote:

No, it compares case-sensitive *only* on "binary" declared columns:
mysql> SELECT 'A' = 'a';
+-----------+
'A' = 'a'
+-----------+
1
+-----------+
1 row in set (0.00 sec)
mysql> SELECT 'A' = BINARY 'a';
+------------------+
'A' = BINARY 'a'
+------------------+
0
+------------------+
1 row in set (0.00 sec)
as does MSSQL (depending on the database settings):
1> SELECT 1 WHERE 'a' = 'A';
2> go
-----------
1
(1 row affected)
1> SELECT 1 WHERE 'a' != 'A';
2> go
-----------
(0 rows affected)
