thanks for responding.
i guess i don't have any birlliant ideas besides wrapping the ldap
functions. i make the point of pear/DB becaused i've observed some
similarities with a possible LDAP framework. these similarities include
parseDSN(), connect(), query() (search() in the case of ldap), and their
connect/result/pear_error objects.
why does pear DB have the monopoly on DSNs. because LDAP has a URL
format: http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2255.txt or
should i not be confusing
DSNs with URLs? either way, the parseDSN algorithm would be helpful for
URl support in a pear ldap package.
