I'm writing a PEAR'ised class which queries a server for results. In order to
relieve load on the server and network traffic for identical queries I'm going
to cache function results.
Is it better to use the Cache/Function class or should I roll my own via
serialisation or some such? The reason I ask is that Cache is currently in
php4/pear and this new class would with any luck :) end up in in /pear
I haven't seen much discussion on using other PEAR classes within new classes.
Is this recommended as a general rule at this stage?
Cheers,
Graeme
