Will classes like PEAR (destructors emulation, error handling), PHP_Error still be relevant with PHP5? IMHO, PHP5 does resolve this problems very well with its new OO model. Whats is being thought about it? We should really encourage developer to use PHP5 in their packages... :-)For destructors you are absolutely right. And we should probably make PEAR able to optionally disable destructors all together (atleast for PHP5). At the same time more and more packages will move away from directly extending PEAR anyways and instead loading the class on a need basis. PEAR_Error is getting replaced by PEAR_ErrorStack and we are exploring how and where Exceptions will help us. regards, Lukas Smith smith@backendmedia.com _______________________________ BackendMedia www.backendmedia.com berlin@backendmedia.com Linn Zwoch Smith GbR Pariser Str. 44 D-10707 Berlin Tel +49 30 83 22 50 00 Fax +49 30 83 22 50 07
