Hi everyone,
This is my first post to the development list and so I though I would start
off with an introduction to get things going. I joined this list at Stig's
request as I met Stig briefly after the presentation at the ApacheCon
conference earlier this month. I mentioned to Stig that I am more than
interested in getting involved in the PEAR project. While I am not a
seasoned programmer, I have been designing web sites for a while, and over
the last year or so, I have learned quite a bit about building sites with
PHP and MySQL. Concerning programming in general, I am learning as I go, so
my intro to programming came by trying to learn PHP and then hitting a book
or two on C. So for now, my best bet to contribute to the project is in the
way of web design and development... at least for now.
Eventually I hope to hone my skills with PHP and programming in general and
be able to contribute more than site design. If you would like to learn more
about me, you can check out my personal site at www.alantmiller.com.
Anyway... to get started. I was hoping to hear from everyone who might be
working on the web site now, or who had planned to, or even has thoughts on
that issue, and get a plan of action together if it doesn't already exist
and to set it in motion. If there is a plan in action, please let me know.
Overall, if someone could answer What the current status of the PEAR web
site is, that would be a great start.
If anyone is interested, I spent a few minutes a while back and came up with
a preliminary design proof for PEAR. It is available at:
www.hollywood101.com/pear . I would love to hear your comments.
Thanks,
Alan
