or even make it a config option what is downloaded by default if there are 2 branches present.Please do not mix CVS with pearweb :-). Pearweb will return to the user the propper package depending the params he suply.
Note. this is not something that would solve the conflict of having php4 and php5 installation of a package,I don't see any conflict. A package can only be installed once in the same <php_dir> (installer setting). If you want to maintain two installations do: $ pear -c pear_php4.php \
-d php_dir=/pear/php4 \
-d php_version=4 \
-s
The same for php5 packages. One can switch beetween them so:
$ pear -c pear_php5.php install Foo_Bar
