I'm strongly +1 for a php5 channel. If one wishes to run cleanly under E_STRICT, now there's no way to filter out non-php5 strict packages. The channel would solve that. Otherwise we'd end in: pear install net_url-beta,php5 Better to have params: pear install -php 5 -state beta net_urlWhy not pear install -php package -author x -date yesterday while we're at it ? :) The state is already defined with pear config-set. Would channels solve that ? having a php5 channel would seem like a good solution.
