This is going to get really ugly really fast. All packages will eventually migrate to PHP5, meaning PEAR PHP5 packages will all be Something2. Wouldn't this be solved a lot better by PEAR channels? PHP5 is enough of a leap to justify a 'fork' in PEAR. There would be PHP4 PEAR and PHP5 PEAR. PHP5 packages follow the PHP5 coding standards, like dropping the underscore from private fields and running correctly under E_STRICT. PHP4 packages continue as-is. Cheers, Sérgio
