Is the major-version-suffix thing a standard/requirement, merely a suggestion/best-practice, completely optional per the developer, or what?Hi, I see a major problem is this commit. This class was stable and working under PHP4. Making it PHP5 only now will mean that anybody upgrading will break his apps. This should be a Net_URL2.Apart from this, maybe the installer could take care on that. A setting like prefferred_php_version (defaulting to the PHP version the installer was launched if not set). Then will need a new tag for <release>'s in package.xml: <release>... <state>beta</state> <php_major_version>5</php_major_version> ...</release> That would prevent the (IMHO) sillyness of the "no-meaning" v2 thing.
