Imho this is not a good solution. It will turn people away.
well, I don't really understand why there is so much negativity on PHP 5. We all need to face the reality: PHP 5 will have a first stable release as scheduled this summer (next month??) so regardless of our personal feelings, we should follow new development at the same speed as PHP.
