Hello,
I have been working ardently on Mail_IMAP 2.0.0 alpha 1. I have several
API modifications made in this release and the addition of several
mailbox/mail management methods.
I think this could benefit from a bit of peer review, and testing if anyone's up to it, and, of course, I would appreciate suggestions.
Some things that I would like comments on are:
1. Many BC breaks have been introduced, some came about as I have
attempted to satisfy feature requests, others seemed to make more sense,
such as consolidation of lengthy argument lists into arrays, elimination of tons of member variables. All intended to make the class smaller and more efficient. Comments on the API would be helpful. What do you dislike about this package, what is bloat in your opinion and if there is bloat perceived, what should be done differently?
2. I have completely rewritten the error API so that the package uses
Pear_ErrorStack instead of PEAR, I've read on the list this is the
successor to PEAR.php and packages should be moving toward it. I have
very little experience with this package, is there anything about my
PEAR_ErrorStack implementation that could be done better?

I am also having some problems getting my example files to install. I have checked and rechecked the package.xml file. I went back to the manual and followed the example given there to the letter, and when I do so the 'docs' directory gets installed to the 'Mail' category directory instead of the 'docs' directory. I tried giving all the directory and example files a role='doc' and when I do that nothing happens. I would appreciate it if someone could check and verify this for me. I dunno maybe something's wrong with my install of PEAR.
Thanks, and I appreciate anyone taking the time to review the package.
Regards,
Richard York
