True -- not even mysql is enabled by default. Is that relevant to this proposal? The package.xml just needs to indicate a dependency on 'soap' extension, right?
Well, I was just saying that it would be nice to provide a way for people to use this if their provider does not install soap (esp. when the manual states explicitly that the soap extension is experimental -- that's a red flag for hosters).
I guess. It would add a lot of code to the class to have an optional PEAR SOAP backend -- especially in area of error handling. Furthermore, PEAR SOAP is not stable yet either. I think the dependency should be made explit, of course. Hans
