Hi. Well, perhaps it would be easier if I leave the validation part out of the package. This way it would not conflict with the Validate package. In the beginning it was only a class, that I needed to generate a german identity-card. I added the validation stuff later, when the whole thing became more framework-like and I thought this could be a useful PEAR package. Another Pro on cutting off the validation functionality is the fact, that finding a package name would be easier. Perhaps PHP::Generate or Util::Generate. Best regards, Carsten Helgi ÞOrmar wrote:
Helgi Þormar (http://pear.php.net/user/dufuz) has commented on the proposal for Tools and Utilities::Util_Checksum. Comment: I agree with Martin and Stephan but I'd like to see it do the same things (even better) then Validate does now with the ISBN and such, and this could maybe be a sub package of Validate ? Thus making Validate smaller, no duplicate work and etc. But then again like Martin said, if this also generates stuff, then maybe it shouldn't be a sub package of Validate but still can work with it. Validate is anyway splitting of soon it's locale stuff into it's own little sub packages. Proposal information: http://pear.php.net/pepr/pepr-proposal-show.php?id=154
