Hope you don't mean what I gave as solution, so far it's running the same for any php scripts:Because I can't. Project is hosted on a managed server, I don't have any access to the machine!I have to say this: the solution you're proposing is not likely to relieve future headaches.
Come on, you have acces thru php, the same as your Rotating Log-Container script.
So isolate that in a script you request each hour.
You need to agressively pursue the people who (mis)manage the server to install logrotate for this specific purpose, perhaps offer a small fee, or something. Capitalism/politic suggestion is the correct solution to this problem, not risky race-prone code :)Understand, you need some karma, dollars, euros to do that. e.g. I would never " agressively pursue the people who (mis)manage the server" where I live so far it gently support me without dollars nor euros. I cannot do Capitalism/politic suggestion :) And you know how those people are BC blocked for the future ? Worst as here ;) To resume first subject, I agree it's no need to change nothing in Log Rotate has to be done, but from outside. à+ -- bertrand Gugger (toggg)
