well pecl seems to be able to cope with the pdo drivers .. like i said .. separate release cycles, proper dependencies, proper states and more importantly an opportunity to better delegate the work seems to out way the "costs" .. which are essentially a slight overhead in package.xml files and a few bytes in our database. regards, Lukas
