The new standard for code formatting [1] requires
@version Release: @package_version@
for class declaration's docblock comment.
AFAIK, @package_version@ will only be replaced by a meaningful value
when each source file has a
<replace type="package-info" from="@package_version@"
to="version"/>
line in the package.xml.
I tried to use
<dir name="/" baseinstalldir="PHPUnit2">
<replace type="package-info" from="@package_version@"
to="version"/>
<!-- ... -->
</dir>
to apply the replacement to all source files but this resulted in an
error during packaging (I am using PEAR 1.3.5).
Is there a way to define a replace operation in package.xml for more
than one file? Would it not be better to define a set of variables like
@package_version@ that always get replaced (like CVS always replaces
RCS variables)?
