Hi all, First off, I am opposed to any automated addition of servers. Can we say channel spam? I will never allow something that makes it possible for spammers to add pear.poker.com as a "channel" :) Adding a channel should require human input. Removing a channel, however, is easy. If we simply add a daily cron job that tries to retrieve channel.xml from registered channels, then if a channel.xml can't be retrieved for a week, the channel could be automatically deleted. Legit channels with serious problems can always be re-added. So, if your channel dies, you simply remove the channel.xml and it will no longer be listed after 1 week. Simple, no?
Fair enough for the maintenance part I'd say. We'll only be listing the names and description on those channels, right ? Not things like what packages and similar overhead things ;D
Of course, there would always be room for someone else to do something like this, right? -ryan -- http://theryanking.com/
