I while back I've written a query-generator for LDAP and SQL which used a
pseudo language.
A worked very well, but in the end I more a less wanted SQL-query syntax for
LDAP.
SELECT cn, street FROM ou=users, dc=kneschke, dc=de WHERE sn LIKE '%c' SCOPE subtree
would become
ldap_search($dh, "ou=users, dc=kneschke, dc=de", "(sn=*c)",
array("cn","street"));
