I agree with Matt, unless, of course your wrapper does something along the lines of checking for pspell and falling back on running it from the command line or something like that. It should also implement the factory() methodology so if other spelling modules pop up they can be incorporated. If it doesn't do either of those two things I don't see a need for the package (unless you can make a strong case about some features we're not aware of). --Joe On Jun 29, 2005, at 4:12 PM, Matthew Fonda wrote:

I have a nice, clean object-wrapper for the pspell extension that I'm in the process of PEARifying, and wanted to get thoughts on the possibility of making it an official package. Since, to this point, there is nothing similar in the repository, I'd assume that the idea has already come and gone. If there is interest, I will provide links to source and usage examples. If not, such is life. Thanks in advance for your comments and consideration. Bryan Dunlap
I love the idea, but what can your package do that pspell_* can't? To me it seems like a needless wrapper, pspell_* functions should suffice. I do like the idea though, and it sounds useful. I just don't see the need for wrappers of just the functions if there is no added functionality, it doesn't really accomplish much.
