Hi fellow pears & pecls! On Linuxtag I talked to the people of Software & Support if they would be interessted in sponsoring new information flyers. Since my stock is nearly empty and AFAIK those who also had some for distribution are blank, too, I thought new ones would be a nice idea. My experiences so far were pretty good and I often had request on our exhibition booths from people who read the flyers. There are several questions to deal with for new flyers, which (from my point of view) I summarize below: a) By now we have combined PECL/PEAR flyers. The question is, if we should stay with that? IMHO that's a good idea. b) The information on the flyers is still valid, but also much more spread by now in comparison to the time we first created them. Shall the content of the flyer be renewed? I imagine something more "distribution system" oriented and PEAR 1.4 specialized. I think that's one of the greatest upcoming events for us and will bring the project into a completly different situation than before. So to say some kind of "newsletter" flyer would be cool. c) The design is, well, nice, but looks old fashioned by now and not that professional. Question is, if and how the design should be replaced? Having a professional designer handling the creation of the flyers sounds like a good idea to me. Maybe we find some company or private person to sponsor that? Or we have a designer in between us who can take care of that? To pull the old design back into your brains: http://www.schlitt.info/misc/PEARFlyer/pdf/ The last we had were th first version. I also like the second version pretty much as an inspiration for the new one. Waiting for feedback.
