http://pear.php.net/pepr/pepr-proposal-show.php?id=289 Any initial thoughts or complaints? This just governs the fact that PEAR packages should not depend on external channel packages. Pretty simple and makes sense, just thought it should be in place before PEAR 1.4.0 hits the streets.
I like the idea but not the language so much. I think it is perfectly reasonable to depend on a PECL package. What about: "PEAR packages may not depend on any packages which are not released by an official PHP channel." Official PHP channels being PEAR and PECL. Just a suggestion.
