Well there are UML specs created by OMG, which could be translated as a standard. http://www.uml.org/ Not that it matters all that much, if one creates UML for his/her package then it's always a safe bet to create a jpg/png of the UML for users to view, and maybe include the project file for the UML (umbrella or similar UML file) so that other maintainers can make alterations to the UML. The sentence above is all what I think and is by no means documented no where :) - Helgi
