What do you think, is it a good idea to add all those blur, sharpen, etc to Image_Transform? This functionality also exists in ImageMagick for example and adding it to Image_Transfrom will give it a consistent interface, so a developer won't need to worry about those libraries, but simply call the needed method. That would be something like Image Library Abstraction Layer, ILAL ;)Which is what I'd intended Image_Transform to do :-) I haven't had time to do much other than look at your weblog entry so far. Any filters you have written which duplicate features in GD would not be included in Image_Transform, and if any cause performance problems then I don't see how we can include them. On this matter I have grave reserves about your code - I'd love to see these effects in the drivers though. It also needs the equivalent methods for the IM and NetPBM driver implementing, which will need the IM driver reworking from scratch (it currently won't support more than one call to convert) - I was looking at this the other day because I wanted to use sharpening on a thumbnail resized using ImageMagick! If you can help provide code for the other drivers that will speed up getting the drivers updated to take advantage of these effects. Peter
