Yeah, there is no problem. We use that already for the oci driver. I'll
comit a patch for it to allow your to test it. Well, wait a minute...
ok, done.
To use it, just connect to the dabase with:
$db = DB::connect('ibase://..', array('optimize' => 'portability');
