Hello All,
I've just finished with my second big go-pear patch, which enhances the
robustness of go-pear: it bootstraps a minimal pear in a tempdir, and
uses pear as much as possible for the rest of the process. This allows
the installation process to stop, and at any time resume where it left
off (eg. a network error or php memory limit error, with a reload of the
page a bit later). Other than that, the code is just much more sane and
flexible (no triple codeblocks etc)
I suggest to create an alpha version of go-pear which runs my refactored
code (usability and robustness patch). That way it can be tested more
extensively, including on windows (where I have no access to), before it
would replace the current ancient go-pear version.
The 2 patches and go-pear_alhpa.txt can be found at:

Is it possible to host the new go-pear_alpha on the pear website ?
Greetings,
Tias
