I'm working on a patch for Net_Ping, but I need samples of ping output from
various platforms. Please consider running the following snippette (10
lines!) of code and mailing back the output.
PLEASE DON'T MAIL YOUR OUTPUT TO THE LIST :)
...just mail it to cconstantine@php.net
- You need Net_Ping to run this ("pear install Net_Ping")
- It takes about 20 seconds to run because the second part
of the test collects ping output when all packets timeout
- Please mail ALL of the output
thank you!
------code starts------
require_once "PEAR.php";
require_once 'Net/Ping.php';
print("email everything that follows to cconstantine@php.net\n");
print_r( new OS_Guess );
$pong = Net_Ping::factory();
print_r( $pong->ping('www.google.com') );
$pong->_result = array(); // work around Net_Ping bug #10788
// an IP address (from a block I manage at work) which
// has nothing on it, so all your ICMP echos will timeout
$result = $pong->ping('209.92.3.80');
print_r($result);
