Thanks to everyone so far for lots of linux/mac/windows samples...
I could really use samples from:
aix
hpux
netbsd
sunos
...and anything else you might have which is "unusual". :)
If you want to help, it only takes a minute or two...
- You need Net_Ping to run this ("pear install Net_Ping")
- It takes about 20 seconds to run because the second part
of the test collects ping output when all packets timeout
- Please mail ALL of the output
------code starts------
require_once "PEAR.php";
require_once 'Net/Ping.php';
print("email everything that follows to cconstantine@php.net\n");
print_r( new OS_Guess );
$pong = Net_Ping::factory();
print_r( $pong->ping('www.google.com') );
$pong->_result = array(); // work around Net_Ping bug #10788
// an IP address (from a block I manage at work) which
// has nothing on it, so all your ICMP echos will timeout
$result = $pong->ping('209.92.3.80');
print_r($result);
