I was the one that pulled Net_Url PHP 5 version way back, i.e. richard changed the v1 from php 4 to 5 in a minor version and moved the php 5 one to a new cvs location and synced those two bug fix wise, I talked to Phillipe (iirc) at the time since he had contributed some code to it but he was too short of time and well Richard had even less time. So basically atm Net_Url2 is just a sugar coated v1, no real PHP 5 features not even exceptions (if I'm not misremembering thing) Just to get people to 2 date why things are as they are. Regards Helgi
