The big advantage is that it makes it easier to update the news instead of the commit-release new version of pearweb that we have now.
Using s9y (or any other system) you can piggyback newsletters/rss etc. off of it. E.g., offer an RSS feed for the news and then FeedBlitz (1) to create a newsletter for those who don't want to go to the website or subscribe to the RSS feed. 1, http://www.feedblitz.com/
