Well, the package was created and mainly maintained by Vincent Lascaux. I joined the package development cause I had some patches for it so Vincent convinced me to have CVS access to the package. What's stoppping the release? I'm not all that familiar with the package and that stops me sometimes to fix some bugs (specially those related with zipping and unzipping). However, I'll spend some hours tomorrow Monday and next weekend to have more bugs fixed.. so, if plp agree we can prepare a 'bugfix release' for next week, what do you think?- and review the partial patch for http://pear.php.net/bugs/bug.php?id=10247 (coding style, removal of die() statements)
