-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 All, We're hiring more developers at Digg.com. If you're interested please email isabelle@digg.com and mention Joe Stump sent you from the PEAR list. Some highlights of working at Digg for me: - - Good benefits (dental, health, vision), free drinks/beer in the fridge, etc. Normal dotcom office I'd say. - - Job is onsite in the Bay Area only. You'd be expected to relocate if you're not already in the Bay Area. - - One of the highest traffic sites on the internet. If you're looking for experience in high traffic sites this is as good as it gets. - - I'm surrounded by some of the most intelligent and driven nerds in the industry. It's great. - - Committed to Open Source. We've contributed one PEAR package and nobody is generally discouraged from contributing back to other projects if it's in the course of regular work. Here's the position/requirements from HR/Management: Ideally, Digg needs someone who knows PHP5 (strong OOP knowledge a plus) inside out, can write some fairly complex SQL, understands Memcached and is well versed in Subversion. Javascript/AJAX skills are a plus. Even Flash/action script might be cool to have. JSON/XML-RPC/SOAP/ATOM/RSS ... are all good things to know as well. So - first assignment - please tell me about you. Also, please detail your PHP experience. Many of the resumes we review mention PHP without specifically describing the work experience where that PHP skill came from. Take a moment and detail exactly what you did on some of your projects in PHP to help convince the hiring manager of your strength with this skill-set. If you have any questions about what it's like to work here please feel free to email me offlist. Thanks! - --Joe p.s. We need a job board on PEAR's site. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (Darwin) iD8DBQFGlqyNh0MUGpYY9OQRApe9AJ0TVlvJ2tNkTQKcLMKHa0kFe8VJbACbBha0 vAItrnEsJWzBTq21cqHY+q0= =goj9 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
