Hi,
I've found some limitations with the actual Intaller/Packager. For now
it's imposible to pack or intall some packs like PHPDoc or Pear DB. I
propose to change the actual Dir tag to something like maps the
filesystem. Ex:
<FileList>
<File>DB.php</File>
<Dir Name="DB">
<File>common.php</File>
<File>mysql.php</File>
<Dir Name="Lob">
<File>common.php</File>
</Dir>
</Dir>
</FileList>
IMHO also the Packager should be changed to build the pack against this
filesystem structure. For ex, if I want to build a pack for:
mypearpack/
|
+----package.xml
+----foo.php
+----bar.php
+----Extensions/
|
+--------foo2.php
+--------bar2.php
"pear package package.xml" should look in the xml, and pack files he
finds in it, taking the base directory as the current dir (or perhaps
the "-p"). The "pear install <pack>" will read this structure but
uncompress against the pear base install dir (or the one specified with
the "-p" param) as it do now.
If this is approved I could start working on it.
