I (and many other devs) lay out their CVS directories as they appear after installation with pear.
This way you can run the tests without problem from your package's cvs root directory given
that dependencies are installed.
Our PEAR-wide unit testing suite actually executes all tests without ever installing a single
package by (basically) adding all directories in pear's cvs to include path (in reality
it's a bit more complex).
