I'd like to create a package that implements similar features to the CodeRunner in PHPT (http://phpt.info/browser/Core/trunk/src/PHPT/CodeRunner/Driver?rev=664). The main feature I'd like is a proc_open() wrapper that works as well on Windows as it does on POSIX. I noticed there is already a package in PEAR named System_Command that appears to cover similar features. I'd like to work on a System_Command 2.0 package that has the following features: - similar features to existing System_Command - driver layer for proc_open() vs WScript.Shell like CodeRunner - PHP5 - respect coding standards If things go well, I'd like to use the new package in Crypt_GPG to make the native Php driver work properly in Windows.
Good idea, I'll use it too for Testing_DocTest, and I think some other packages could also use it (I'm thinking of packages that use proc_open(), popen(), system() ...). I think the python subprocess module [http://docs.python.org/lib/module-subprocess.html] could also be a good source of inspiration. Good luck ! David.
