Hi Joe,
I'm using for a my project the class.jabber2.php.
You may find a modified version here (used in my project):
http://ortro.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/ortro/trunk/plugins/notification/jabber/lib/class.jabber2.php?view=markup
and the original here:
http://flyspray.org/class.jabber2.php
Here an example works also with SSL
http://ortro.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/ortro/trunk/plugins/notification/jabber/core.php?revision=525&view=markup
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Luca
