Well, pear will package a file with version 1 and or version 2 - so
just that it works with pear package is not enough. The easiest way
to test is to run pear convert in the package directory. If the
package.xml file is already at version 2, pear will say "package.xml
is already a package.xml version 2.0" otherwise a package2.xml file
will be created in the current directory. Once the file is updated you
can run pear package to create the .tgz file, and then test
installation with pear install Foo-1.0.0.tgz or `pear install
package2.xml`
Hope that helps!
