Hopefully this isn't a deal breaker!It is. It's PEAR's coding standards.
Again, this is part of PEAR's coding standards. We don't really support the type of installation you talk about. There's a reason there's a CLI utility to do this (it's there to enforce dependencies between packages, etc.).5) Your exception needs to extend PEAR_ExceptionI did this, but I am a bit worried about people not having PEAR installed. Is PEAR/Exception.php installed automatically with PHP? If not, I don't think I should depend on it. People could just download the .tgz.
Also, I've had my proposal up for a week now, and the instructions says I should call for votes if it seems like enough people would vote for it. I'm not clear though, if there are enough, so if people could let me know if/which way they would vote, I'd really appreciate it.I doubt highly it'll be accepted when not conforming to CS in such a big way (class naming convention). Additionally, this package really should be prefixed with DB. I suggest: DB_Mongo DB_Mongo_Auth An alternative is to create a PEAR2 package and make it PHP 5.3 only. --Joe
