Following PEAR's rejection, I've had a couple of potential students email me about the Amazon Web Services proposal I posted on the PEAR wiki [1]. It seems the PHP GSoC wiki page [2] tells students that if there are spare PHP project slots, some slots may be used for PEAR/PECL projects. I'd like to get some confirmation from PEAR/PHP as to whether or not that statement is accurate. So far, I've been telling students that PEAR was not accepted, and have been linking to David's mailing list post.Is there an official status on this? A student has applied for the idea mentioned here but we are unsure if PEAR would allow it, or what the situation is. Please clarify. Regards, Philip
