Hi all,
I've begun (since a month now) to rewrite a new version of PHP_CompatInfo (alias PCI) API, still compatible PHP4 and PHP5.
It should be the last one with full backward compatibility. After next versions of PCI will be only for PHP5 users.
Here are summary of changes :
- a new parser more maintainable are readable, that allow more level of detection
- a reflection api for PHP4 (yes its possible, and I did it, of course with some restriction; particular to extension details)
- a SQLite 2 (for PHP4) and SQLite3 (for PHP5) backend database : more easy to update than my previous system with GLOBALS ESL / ERS (see my slides about API 1.9 [1])
Now a question to PEAR Community :
Did you think usefull to have a package that give almost the same level of information that Reflection API, but without limitation to PHP5 ?
It could be easy for me to split my code in a separate package (perharps named PHP_Reflection)
What do you think of a such idea ?
