Hello Christian
Hello Laurent,
I've already begin to write a "Why" (draft) I used the tokenizer extension rather than PHP5 Reflection API. This draft will be available soon and will be follow by an alpha version of PHP_CompatInfo 1.10.0
So you are using the PHP tokenizer to create a list of global vars, functions and classes with their methods and variables? ezcReflection (ez Components) is IIRC about to do the same - maybe you can reuse it.
Because, I've proposed my new "PHP_Reflector" package as the base of PHP source code detection, and have received no real enthusiasm from the PEAR community, I've decided to stop the development in PEAR repository, and provide the new version on my own site.
Laurent, you know that there is decreasing PEAR activity generally over the last years. We (at least I) know that you're writing good code,
Thanks for this mention Christian :)
so I'd say not much response from the pear-devs shouldn't be taken by you as reason to not promote your package and put it into pear.
Of course, I can and I will promote the package named PHP_Reflector into pear. But I won't expect a real reaction from the community, so it won't be propose through the PEPr system. Did there are any, even from PEAR Group/QA team, when I've proposed PEAR_TestListener, what goal is at least to improve test unit suites of all PEAR packages ... ? BTW, personnaly I don't know status of PEPr : is it still broken (send mail to mailing list, vote and more ...) A communication from the PEAR Group should be necessary ! I don't want to open a war flames, but I'm disapointed when I see all guys CRY I want to be in PEAR Group, and when they are in, what did they do ? I did not said for you: you are probably one of the most active in the past year (no need to tell all your works) PEAR Group: You want to promote a good image of PEAR in the community So there are lot of stuff to do it immediatly (no need to wait a vote period for that). I know it's a hard job, not easy, but when you want to be in a such group, don't seat and wait as our politician did in our countries ;-) After 6 full years, I'm in a day frontier to let down PEAR, and continue on my own and different way. It's sure I'll do it one day ... but when, that is still the question. Laurent
