I believe the only changes are additional release types for zend source/install-time-compile and binary extension package support. They function basically the same as a regular ol' pecl extensions, but you get zend_extension=… instead of extension=… in your php.ini. Before, you would use extsrcrelease, extbinrelease or phprelease, now you can also use zendextsrcrelease or zendextbinrelease. -- Brett Bieber
