Hi all,
As promised in this same mailing list 2 days ago, here are my new proposal PHP_Reflector.
I won't yet propose through the PEPr system, because :
- There are lot of code clean-up to do: it's perharps the worst work I officially share with you (especially if you know quality of what I proposed in past)
- add phpdoc comments missing in almost all source file
- run PHP_CodeSniffer
- complete the draft [1] with source code highlighted
- add more examples.
- Explains perharps better differences and gains with the PHP5 Reflection API
If you've not horrified by all this stuff, give a chance to download archive and install on the __URI channel, and run either :
- the test suite (21 tests to start; more to come)
- example to parse multiple data source (2 packages: PEAR_PackageUpdate 0.5.0 and File_Find 1.3.0)
In draft paper [1] there is an example to find globals / superglobals in any data source code, related to request #16247
This is the first alpha version.
I know it's not perfect and need to be tune up (perharps on your feedback, if any), but this new parser engine will allow better detection to future versions of PHP_CompatInfo.
This is the last work, where I keep Backward-Compatibilty with PHP4.
PHP_CompatInfo 1.10.0 will still be PHP4 BC, but PHP_CompatInfo 2.0.0 on PEAR2 should used all PHP5 features.
If you are more interrested in this proposal than PEAR_TestListener [3], still without comments (I used in PHP_Reflector test suite ;-)
Feel free to send me a mail, or reply here on this mailing list
