I suspect the original intention was to divide by a min(package age in days, current day of month), not by a package age.Consider: today is 15th of Marchober, we have a release done 11th and another release done 15th previous month. When calculating downloads per day in current month, we should divide number of downloads for the first release by 5 (as is done now) and by 15 for the second one (now it will be divided by 30). Oh, and we will do "most popular releases in current month" rather than "most popular packages in last 30 days". The stats are aggregated per month.
